Tell us a little bit about yourself, Veronika.

I am a Brooklyn-bred jewelry designer and a psychology major graduate. I found that my strengths and ultimate love for jewelry were embedded in my soul long before I discovered my love for designing. After a few semesters at Loyola in Maryland, I moved back to the world I left in New York to attend Hunter College and began working as a model. I worked in nightlife while simultaneously interning for jewelry designer Jessica Robinson. I decided to launch Veronika, a brand for the woman who is everything! My family values, educational background, and industry exposure inspire me as I create for the next generation of passionate and powerful women.

What does fashion mean to you?

Fashion is a great form of expression. You can dress for how you feel in the moment or you can dress for the future. You know the saying, “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.” It’s a great way to put energy into the universe.

When did you develop a love of fashion?

I have always had my own opinion about what I want to or was willing to wear from very young. As a young girl, I would take my parents on frequent trips to the fabric store so I could create my own clothes for my Barbies. I’d spend hours sewing and bedazzling wardrobes for Barbie and friends. Long before short hair was in, I took scissors to my dolls hair and they emerged with bald heads and high top fades! Some were lucky to end up with chic bobs.

You have a pretty chic bob – and look – yourself! How would you describe your style?

Nine out of 10 times I am pretty simple. Most of the time I love muted colors. I want my clothes to fit like a glove and have special detail. I love when designers incorporate the unexpected into something simple. But on the tenth day, I may wear a see through rainbow shirt. I am still learning about my own style and I sometimes surprise myself with the looks I create and end up loving.

How do you incorporate your own personal style with what you do?

Every piece I create is a reflection of my personality. There is nothing that I make that I am not attached to. I use my jewelry design to create things that express my reality and my fantasy.

What is your go-to power outfit?

All black, well-tailored with an over the knee boot and a Veronika choker.

Your biggest fashion faux pas, or a regrettable purchase / style phase:

OMG. I used to LOVE the store Limited Too. Neutrals were my worst enemy. Anything bright with accents attached. My dad would always complain that his clothes came out of the wash with glitter on them.

That’s funny given your now propensity for neutrals nowadays :).. So what’s the one garment you’ll never give away?

The Tiffany’s Love Knot bracelet my dad gave to all of his daughters, I never take it off. When it comes to clothing I am saving all my best items for my future daughter.

What excites you most about Nineteenth Amendment?

I find that amassing inventory is one of the hardest things to do as a designer. The fact that Nineteenth Amendment can relieve that stress from designers is truly a blessing!

What spoke to you about the garment you chose to wear?

I am a sucker for texture. So suede and the quilting on this Achalla est Couture Silver Gray Cobra Jumpsuit won me over easily. It was sooo soft and comfy and fit me like a glove, but still had so much attitude!

Paradigm is a collection energized by Ancient Egypt. It reflects the beauty, sexuality, and sovereign aspects of the modern woman of today.
